Deerfield Designs has been screen printing since 1978 and has seen the industry change throughout the years. But the same purpose remains the same: put this design on this item. Although tee shirts remain our typical garment to print, we have and can print on all garments.
Once the art department has made positives of your design (one for each color), we take them to burn the image into a screen. One screen is made for each color, so you need as many screens as you have colors in your design. Four color process designs will require four screens if the print is being applied to a white or natural colored garment. If a four color process design needs to be applied to any other color, the print is called simulated process. These jobs typically require six screens.
The screens are chosen by their mesh count which is specific to ink colors. We burn the designs onto the screens while considering its placement on the garment. The screens are registered on the press to print all the separate colors in perfect alignment with each other. The trick to every excellent print is its exact registration. It is the decades of experience that ensures Deerfield Designs a Vermont Screen Printer will give you the best looking screen printed designs.
It is the test prints of any production run that guarantees the success of the job. As a Vermont Screen Printing Company, we pay careful attention to creating the closest exact match to the artwork we are submitted and we have PMS color matching available if so required. We use our test prints to ensure the entire production run is the exact same on each print. By operating all our presses by hand, not one garment goes by, that isn’t printed like the one before or after it. Our skilled pressman operates with a critical eye.
